After numerous rounds of ‘We don’t even know if Osama is still alive’,  Barrack Obama has now been telling  everyone he will capture Osama Bin Laden when elected.

So, Osama Bin Laden himself decided to send Barrack Obama a letter in his own handwriting to let him know he was still in  the game. Obama opened the letter and it contained a single line of coded message:

370H-SSV-0773H

Obama was baffled, so he e-mailed it to Howard Dean .. Dean and the DNC and his aides had no clue either, so they sent it to Joe Biden .. Joe Biden could not solve so it was sent to the FBI and the CIA.

Eventually they asked George Bush and his Staff to look at it. And within a minute Dick Cheney e-mailed Obama with this reply:  ‘Tell Obama he’s holding the message upside down’.

and had a deeper role than the Obama camp is claiming. The below is an excerpt  from: http://www.suntimes.com/news/metro/blagojevich/1337789,CST-NWS-rahm18good.article

President-elect Barack Obama’s incoming chief of staff Rahm Emanuel had a deeper involvement in pressing for a U.S. Senate seat appointment than previously reported, the Sun-Times has learned. Emanuel had direct discussions about the seat with Gov. Blagojevich, who is is accused of trying to auction it to the highest bidder.

Emanuel talked with the governor in the days following the Nov. 4 election and pressed early on for the appointment of Valerie Jarrett to the post, sources with knowledge of the conversations told the Sun-Times. There was no indication from sources that Emanuel brokered a deal, however.

A source with the Obama camp strongly denied Emanuel spoke with the governor directly about the seat, saying Emanuel only spoke with Blagojevich once recently to say he was taking the chief of staff post.

But sources with knowledge of the investigation said Blagojevich told his aides about the calls with Emanuel and sometimes gave them directions afterward. Sources said that early on, Emanuel pushed for the appointment of Jarrett to the governor and his staff and asked that it be done by a certain date.

At least some of the conversations between Emanuel and Blagojevich were likely caught on tape, sources said.

After Jarrett took herself out of the running in mid-November, Emanuel submitted a list of suitable names to the governor’s camp that didn’t include her name.

Emanuel, who has refused to comment on the issue, is not accused of wrongdoing.

In portions of conversations released in a criminal complaint against Blagojevich, he can be heard complaining that Obama wouldn’t give anything in return for a Jarrett appointment.

Who am I?

I  was raised in one country but my father was born in another. I was not his only child. He fathered several children with a number of women.

I became very close to my mother because my father showed little interest in me. Then my mother died at an early age from cancer. Later in life, questions arose over my real name. My birth records were sketchy and no one was able to produce a reliable birth certificate.

I grew up practicing one faith, but converted to Christianity because this was widely accepted in my country. But I practiced non-traditional beliefs and did not follow mainstream Christianity.

I worked and lived among lower-class people as a young adult before I decided it was time to get serious about my life and I embarked on a new career.

I wrote a book about my struggles growing up. It was clear to those who read my memoirs that I had difficulties accepting that my father abandoned me as a child.

I became active in local politics when I was in my 30s and then burst onto the scene as a candidate for national office when I was in my 40s. I had a virtually non-existent resume, very little work history, and no experience in leading a single organization. Yet I was a powerful speaker who managed to draw incredibly large crowds during my public appearances.

At first, my political campaign focused on my country’s foreign policy. I was critical of my country in the last war. But what launched my rise to national prominence were my views on the country’s economy. I had a plan on how we could do better. I knew which group was responsible for getting us into this mess.

Mine was a peoples campaign. I was the surprise candidate because I emerged from outside the traditional path of politics and was able to gain widespread popular support. I offered the people the hope that together we could change our country and the world.

I spoke on behalf of the downtrodden including persecuted minorities such as Jews, but my actual views were not widely known until after I became my nations leader. However, anyone could have easily learned what I really believed if they had simply read my writings and examined those people I associated with. But they did not.

Then I became the most powerful man in the world. And the world learned the truth.

Who am I? Scroll down for the answer.

Questions Remain

Five days ago, Chairman Obama said he’d release a list of names of those in his administration discussing the Senate seat with Blago. We’re still waiting — as we are for the birth certificate, college transcripts, and virtually everything else about the Chairman’s past being hidden from public view.

The below from the Chicago Tribune appears to be what little is available on the subject.

Rahm Emanuel talked with governor’s office about who should fill Obama’s Senate seat

Chief of staff for Obama had list of names

By Bob Secter
December 13, 2008

Rahm Emanuel, President-elect Barack Obama’s pick to be White House chief of staff, had conversations with Gov. Rod Blagojevich’s administration about who would replace Obama in the U.S. Senate, the Tribune has learned.

The revelation does not suggest Obama’s new gatekeeper was involved in any talk of dealmaking involving the seat. But it does help fill in the gaps surrounding a question that Obama was unable or unwilling to answer this week: Did anyone on his staff have contact with Blagojevich about his choice for the Senate seat?

Blagojevich and John Harris, his former chief of staff, face federal charges in an alleged shakedown involving the vacant Senate seat, which Illinois law grants the governor sole authority to fill.

Obama said Thursday he had never spoken to Blagojevich about the Senate vacancy and was “confident that no representatives” of his had engaged in any dealmaking over the seat with the governor or his team. He also pledged Thursday that in the “next few days” he would explain what contacts his staff may have had with the governor’s office about the Senate vacancy.

Emanuel, who has long been close to both Blagojevich and Obama, has refused to respond to questions about any involvement he may have had with the Blagojevich camp over the Senate pick. A spokeswoman for Emanuel also declined to comment Friday.

One source confirmed that communications between Emanuel and the Blagojevich administration were captured on court-approved wiretaps.

Another source said that contact between the Obama camp and the governor’s administration regarding the Senate seat began the Saturday before the Nov. 4 election, when Emanuel made a call to the cell phone of Harris. The conversation took place around the same time press reports surfaced about Emanuel being approached about taking the high-level White House post should Obama win.

Emanuel delivered a list of candidates who would be “acceptable” to Obama, the source said. On the list were Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett, Illinois Veterans Affairs director Tammy Duckworth, state Comptroller Dan Hynes and U.S. Rep. Jan Schakowsky of Chicago, the source said. All are Democrats.

Sometime after the election, Emanuel called Harris back to add the name of Democratic Atty. Gen. Lisa Madigan to the approved list, the source said.

Blagojevich and Harris, who resigned his state post Friday, are charged with plotting to sell the selection of Obama’s replacement in exchange for lucrative jobs or campaign cash for the governor. Among other things, a government affidavit filed with the charges claimed that Blagojevich had kicked around the idea of using his Senate selection to leverage an appointment to an ambassadorship or Cabinet post in the Obama administration.

Chairman Obama’s Misuse of .GOV Domain

The below is posted on Michelle Malkin’s web site — and sums it up better than anyone else ever could.

Michelle Malkin

www.change.gov smells like a fund-raising front

By Michelle Malkin  •  November 7, 2008 05:02 AM

Government domain names (”.gov”) for websites are supposed to be restricted to eligible government organizations and programs.

Does Barack Obama’s transition website, www.change.gov - which is basically a souped-up version of his campaign site - qualify? As Ed Morrissey pointed out yesterday, “The incoming administration technically has no status as a government organization or program until January 20, 2009. The “Office of the President-Elect” doesn’t exist within the government.”

The primary goal of the transition site seems to be to collect e-mail addresses and personal information - for future fund-raising and political organizing projects. More on that in a moment.

Did the GSA, which administers the rules governing .gov websites, vet this site? One industry exec doesn’t think so, and has sent a complaint:

To whom it may concern,

Recently a new .gov domain name was registered. The name of this domain was http://www.change.gov. This appears to be a violation of the Domain Naming Conventions Summary located at https://www.dotgov.gov/dnc.aspx. The domain does not appear to meet the criteria outlined on that page. It is my belief that the name was granted without the proper review, due to the current political climate and may in fact have been a political favor which is a clear violation of federal law.

What is the process to file a complaint regarding improper use of the .gov TLD?

Thank you for your time and cooperation.

The Obama Administration will call on Americans to serve in order to meet the nation’s challenges. President-Elect Obama will expand national service programs like AmeriCorps and Peace Corps and will create a new Classroom Corps to help teachers in underserved schools, as well as a new Health Corps, Clean Energy Corps, and Veterans Corps. Obama will call on citizens of all ages to serve America, by developing a plan to require 50 hours of community service in middle school and high school and 100 hours of community service in college every year. Obama will encourage retiring Americans to serve by improving programs available for individuals over age 55, while at the same time promoting youth programs such as Youth Build and Head Start.

Will Rezko Rat Out Obama?

obama3amwhitehouse

The Washington post reported the following:

A footnote to the 76-page criminal complaint and affidavit charging Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich (D) with soliciting bribes confirms what has long been rumored — that a former longtime friend and fundraiser for President-elect Barack Obama is talking to federal prosecutors in hopes of a reduced sentence.

Antoin “Tony” Rezko’s offer to provide authorities with evidence of others’ wrongdoing is “not complete,” and prosecutors are working to corroborate the claims he has made so far, the footnote said.

Rezko, a 53-year-old developer, was convicted in June of 16 criminal counts, including fraud, money laundering and abetting bribery. He is in custody awaiting sentencing.

Prosecutors depicted Rezko at trial as a fixer for Blagojevich and the man to see to secure a high-level appointment with the governor’s administration. Rezko had been a longtime fundraiser for Blagojevich and other Illinois politicians, including Obama.

Obama was not implicated in the months-long trial, and he has said that Rezko sought no favors from him. At a news conference on Tuesday, Patrick J. Fitzgerald, U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Illinois, went out of his way to dampen speculation about Obama.

“I should make clear, the complaint makes no allegations about the president-elect whatsoever,” Fitzgerald said. “We make no allegations that he’s aware of anything, and that’s as simply as I can put it. . . .

“There’s no reference in the complaint to any conversations involving the president-elect or indicating that the president-elect was aware of it. And that’s all I can say.”

Legal experts said it was unusual for a prosecutor to make such a blanket statement while an investigation was continuing.

“That carries a great deal of weight,” said Jan Witold Baran, a Washington lawyer who represents politicians on ethical complaints and campaign finance matters. “It is really unusual for a U.S. attorney to say someone is not implicated.

“Could evidence pop up in the future to the contrary? Sure, it’s possible. Is it likely? I think that, based on what he said yesterday, the answer is no,” Baran added.

The ongoing investigation is sure to present political complications for the Obama Justice Department, because advisers close to the president-elect are referenced in the criminal complaint and will be interviewed by federal prosecutors, legal analysts said. A lawyer for the Obama transition team did not return calls or e-mails yesterday.

Fitzgerald was appointed U.S. attorney by President Bush, but he is a political independent. Obama could retain Fitzgerald, lending an element of continuity to the Blagojevich case and insulating himself somewhat from accusations that he is seeking to remove a dogged prosecutor from a case targeting Illinois Democrats.

Rezko’s reappearance in the headlines in recent years has been of continuing use to Obama’s political opponents — including Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) and John McCain (R-Ariz.), both of whose presidential campaigns pointed out that Obama shared a long history with the Chicago developer.

Over Obama’s political career, Rezko raised contributions for him and introduced him to powerful aldermen. Rezko even offered real estate advice when Obama bought an expensive house on Chicago’s South Side.

The two met in the early 1990s. Obama has said he was finishing his studies at Harvard Law School when Rezko and his business associates first contacted him about a job possibility in development. Obama declined a job offer from Rezko, instead accepting a position at a small Chicago law firm that would later represent Rezko’s company and whose senior partner would in time go into business with Rezko.

A few years later, Obama entered politics. Records list three checks arriving on his first day of fundraising for the Illinois Senate. Two of them, totaling $2,000, came from companies associated with Rezko. Over time, the businessman and Obama began meeting regularly for lunch and dinner, occasionally with their wives.

After he joined the U.S. Senate in 2005, Obama took Rezko on a tour of a six-bedroom house in an upscale Chicago neighborhood. Rezko recommended that Obama buy the home and, on the day Obama closed the deal, Rezko’s wife closed on an adjoining lot. The Rezkos resold a portion of their lot to Obama to expand his yard.

Lawyers in the Blagojevich case said information provided by Rezko and others who testified at Rezko’s trial could form the backbone of several additional charges against the governor. Blagojevich’s wife, Patricia, had worked on real estate deals with Rezko.

Nearly half of the criminal complaint unsealed Tuesday deals with allegations that members of the Blagojevich administration offered access to jobs and state contracts in exchange for campaign cash. Neither Blagojevich nor his chief of staff, John Harris, was immediately charged with involvement in those alleged schemes. Several of the fundraisers testified at Rezko’s criminal trial this year.

Fitzgerald said authorities did not “rely upon” information from Rezko in the complaint. Joseph Duffy, a defense attorney for Rezko, did not return calls yesterday.

So how bad does Rezko want to get out of jail? Enough to not fall on his sword for Obama as so many associated with Whitewater and the Rose Law Firm had done for the Clintons?

What about Gov. Blago? Will he hold out on resigning and get offered a deal to blow in all that he knows about Obama, Chicago Politics, Rezcko, ….?

Will Blago or Rezko, like so many people with the goods on the Clintons when they were in the White House — meet with an unfortunate accident? Is Hillary making some calls for the Chairman?

Did you note that the prosecutor made the unprecedented announcement that Obama was in the clear? That is a very unusual statement to make before you have all of the facts — and can make you look stupid when facts make you retract it. Maybe he’d never retract it — no matter what future evidence shows him.  After all, Obama has the right to fire all Federal Prosecutors when he takes office — so did Fitzgerald send Obama a signal to keep him for another 4 years with clearing Obama before the investigation, and…? If Obama keeps Fitzgerald on, will Fitzgerald turn a blind eye to Obama and maybe even Rahm Emanuel?

One thing is for certain — this is only starting to play out. Does Obama have the power to get it swept under the rug? We know the Main Street Media is in the tank for Obama — but will the bloggers keep this going — and will high profile Republicans grow some balls and keep this in the news?

We can only wait and see.

Hey — It’s only the Constitution!

The U.S. Supreme Court declined Monday to hear one of the appeals challenging whether President-elect Barack Obama’s citizenship disqualifies him from becoming president.

The court’s order said only that, “The application for stay addressed to Justice [Clarence] Thomas and referred to the court is denied.”

Leo C. Donofrio, a New Jersey lawyer who filed the case, argued that Mr. Obama had British citizenship when he was born, thus disqualifying him from being president under the Constitution’s requirement of being a “natural-born citizen.”

“My case is done,” he said. “I’m perfectly comfortable with their decision.”

Preventing Mr. Obama from becoming president was less of a consideration for him than ensuring constitutional law is followed, he said.

“I’m not worried about Barack Obama, I’m worried about the precedent of law,” Mr. Donofrio said. “This sets a precedent for someone who doesn’t have a tie to this country” to become president.

Birth records show Mr. Obama was born in Hawaii to an American mother and a Kenyan father who was then a British citizen. His father’s citizenship made Mr. Obama both American and British, Mr. Donofrio argued.

More than a dozen lawsuits have challenged Mr. Obama’s presidency based on his citizenship. Two are pending before the Supreme Court.

One appeal, filed by Pennsylvania lawyer Philip J. Berg, argues that Mr. Obama was born in Kenya and that his “certification of live birth” from Hawaii is falsified. Hawaiian officials said the birth records correctly list Mr. Obama’s birth as Aug. 4, 1961, in Honolulu.

A federal court in Pennsylvania dismissed Mr. Berg’s lawsuit, which prompted his appeal to the Supreme Court.

An appeal by a Connecticut man challenges the legitimacy of the presidential election based on questions of Mr. Obama’s eligibility as a dual national at birth. The high court is scheduled to discuss whether to grant that case a hearing at a private conference Dec. 12.

Illinois Gov. Blagojevich, chief of staff, arrested
Breadth of corruption “staggering”

By Jeff Coen, David Kidwell and Monique Garcia | Tribune staff reporters
9:14 AM CST, December 9, 2008

Gov. Rod Blagojevich and his chief of staff, John Harris, were arrested by FBI agents on federal corruption charges Tuesday morning.

Blagojevich and Harris were arrested simultaneously at their homes at about 6:15 a.m., according to Frank Bochte of the FBI. Both were awakened in their residences and transported to FBI headquarters in Chicago.

In one charge related to the appointment of a senator to replace Barack Obama, prosecutors allege that Blagojevich sought appointment for himseld as Secretary of Health and Human Services in the new Obama administration, or a lucrative job with a union, in exchange for appointing a union-preferred candidate.

Another charge alleges Blagojevich and Harris conspired to demand the firing of Chicago Tribune editorial board members responsible for editorials critical of him in exchange for state help with the sale of Wrigley Field, the Chicago Cubs baseball stadium owned by Tribune Co.

Blagojevich and Harris, along with others, obtained and sought to gain financial benefits for the governor, members of his family and his campaign fund in exchange for appointments to state boards and commissions, state jobs and state contracts, according to the charges.

“The breadth of corruption laid out in these charges is staggering,” U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald said in a statement.

“They allege that Blagojevich put a ‘for sale’ sign on the naming of a United States senator; involved himself personally in pay-to-play schemes with the urgency of a salesman meeting his annual sales target; and corruptly used his office in an effort to trample editorial voices of criticism.”

Blagojevich is scheduled to appear before U.S. Magistrate Judge Nan Nolan later today, according to Randall Samborn of the U.S. attorney’s office.

Click here for the latest updates from the Breaking News Center

A three-year federal corruption investigation of pay-to-play politics in Gov. Rod Blagojevich’s administration has expanded to include his impending selection of a new U.S. senator to succeed President-elect Barack Obama, the Tribune has learned.

Federal authorities got approval from a judge before the November general election to secretly record the governor, sources told the Tribune, and among their concerns was whether the selection process might be tainted. That possibility has become a focus in an intensifying investigation that has included recordings of the governor and the cooperation of one of his closest friends.

The governor has not been accused of any wrongdoing. The specific contents of the recent recordings have not been disclosed. Blagojevich has said the appointment of a Senate successor, which is his choice alone, could come in a matter of weeks.

Speaking to reporters Monday for the first time since the Tribune revealed federal investigators had recorded him and others as part of their corruption probe, Blagojevich said his discussions were “always lawful.” He also defended close confidant John Wyma, whose cooperation with federal agents helped lead to the recordings, as “an honest person who’s conducted himself in an honest way.”

“I should say if anybody wants to tape my conversations, go right ahead, feel free to do it,” he said. “I appreciate anybody who wants to tape me openly and notoriously, and those who feel like they want to sneakily, and wear taping devices, I would remind them that it kind of smells like Nixon and Watergate.”

Unlike the recordings that the federal government has of Blagojevich, the tapes that led to President Richard Nixon’s 1974 resignation over the burglary of Democratic offices at the Watergate complex and the ensuing coverup were made by Nixon himself.

Regardless of “whether you tape me privately or publicly, I can tell you that whatever I say is always lawful and the things I’m interested in are always lawful,” Blagojevich said. “And if there are any things out there like that, what you’ll hear is a governor who tirelessly and endlessly figures out ways to help average, ordinary working people.”

Blagojevich’s comments came amid increasing concern by Democrats that the governor’s pending appointment of a Senate successor may become politically tainted as a result of the investigations surrounding his administration. Federal investigators have been looking into allegations of corruption regarding state jobs, appointments and contracts in connection with Blagojevich’s prolific fundraising.

Blagojevich has not been charged with any wrongdoing and contended that if federal investigators areƒs “going to those lengths and extents [of obtaining recordings], if in fact that’s true, that would suggest all the past has been pretty good.”

“I don’t believe there’s any cloud that hangs over me. I think there’s nothing but sunshine hanging over me,” the governor said.

Blagojevich made the remarks at a Monday morning visit to laid-off workers staging a sit-in at the Republic Windows & Doors plant on Goose Island.

Later Monday, he met for 90 minutes with Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr., the South Side and southwest suburban congressman who has been the most visibly active campaigner for the appointment to replace Obama. Jackson, who was among the last high-profile Senate successor candidates to speak with Blagojevich, has had disagreements with the governor and is not close to him.

Blagojevich issued a strong defense of Wyma and accused the Tribune of publishing misinformation and possibly defamatory material.

“To begin with, they didn’t get it right,” he said. “John Wyma’s lawyer put out a statement. The Tribune was wrong and very well may have defamed him.”

But the statement from Wyma’s lawyer did not directly address the Tribune story and instead appeared directed at media outlets and others who reported Wyma wore a wire.

The Tribune noted that Wyma’s cooperation with federal investigators helped lead to recordings of Blagojevich but did not report that he wore a wire.

Wyma’s lawyer also did not respond to the Tribune’s report that Wyma was cooperating with investigators. “John Wyma is a friend of mine, he was my chief of staff, and I’m sure whatever he does, he does ethically and follows the rules,” the governor said.

Blagojevich said he would not remove Wyma from his inner circle of advisers. He also told the Tribune that Wyma was not involved in the deliberations over an Obama successor. “No, I consider him a friend. and I don’t consider him as anything but a friend. And to someone who, as I’ve known him, always has been an honest person who’s conducted himself in an honest way,” Blagojevich said of Wyma. “That’s the John Wyma I know and it’s the John Wyma that [Obama's incoming chief of staff, Rep.] Rahm Emanuel knows and a lot of other people know.”

Blagojevich said he had last spoken to Wyma the day before Thanksgiving, when he offered holiday wishes and “talked a little bit about the plight of the Detroit Lions. He’s from Michigan.”

And the governor indicated he was not concerned about Wyma cooperating with federal investigators. “Look, I believe everybody should just tell the truth and pursue the truth and be truthful and then you do that and everything’s fine,” he said.
